Christmas is on a Friday #4

I almost decided to skip Christmas today since I had shown it with my Live!/closeups this week.

But then I decided I'd share a few swaps instead....

I'm not sure why the gnomes are "a thing", but they are. :)

So of course I have to show you the swap I received with them plus a couple others.

Joy of Sharing all the EXTRAS!

Hey peeps!!

It was really fun playing with the extras in my Joy of Sharing Kit yesterday!

I was SO happy with my results without adding too much additional product. :)

As I said in my Live!, I started with this simple design, much like the simplicity of the kit itself.

Joy of Sharing.Extra1 www.dazzledbystamping.com

This one is my favorite!

I ADORE how it turned out!

Joy of Sharing.Extra2 www.dazzledbystamping.com

I love how this looks laying down under the light....Because it's stitched, there was a different kind of pressure on the edges; they look lifted.

Here are products used:

I'll be sharing details soon on the class I'm having with this kit in November.

Have a fantastic day!!!

Have a Hoot!

Hello!!

I have a few Stampers Club swaps to share with you!

These are from my longest running club, but I'm not sharing from all of them....

A few people were gone and one used hers for her Secret Stamper, SOOOOO I can't show that one!!

Michelle is making me think I MAY need to get this Have a Hoot bundle (even though it involves coloring)!!

Look how cute this stitched collage frame is!!

If you look on pg 62 of the Mini Catalog, you can see that this collage frame [my words] is ALL ONE PIECE.

So the 3-shape setup is from 1 die.

And what is cut out become stitched tags with holes for the ribbon/thread. :D

PLUS, there are Christmas stamps in the bundle. :)

Have a Hoot, swap by Michelle Jager, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Zany Zebras, swap by Mary DeWit, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Forever Fern, swap by Georgianne Everhart, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Zany Zebras and Forever Fern are MORE faves of mine!!

Thanks for sharing, girls!!

Have a spectacular day!!

Christmas is on a Friday #3

Happy Friday!

Haha! I started with the "Christmas is on Friday" when I wasn't ready to deal with Christmas.

THEN I showed you a Christmas Card Kit!

I was playing with the Tree Angle set last week, and here's another card I came up with.

I actually did stamp the brick wall (Brick & Mortar) AFTER I ran it through the die cutting machine.

But you COULD stamp before....You'll just want to put a kleenex on top of the stamped image when you run it through, so you don't have to worry about ink on your folder.

I sponged Smoky Slate lightly across the brick to give it a weathered look.

I love doing that with brick.

Here's everything I used, including colors:

Are you ready to be thinking about your Christmas cards yet?

I'll be scheduling some classes soon!

Have a fabulous day!!

Good morning!!

I hope everyone had a restful weekend--or productive, whichever you choose!

I love a long weekend! :)

I have one more project for you from my Whale Done Class.

It was the first time I'd used the Seabed embossing folder.

It's so cool!!

We colored the Seabed here and there with Sponge Daubers and ink.

Christmas is on a Friday #2

Happy Friday!!

Happy Long Weekend!!

Happy Christmas!!!!!!

Haha!!

I'm starting to feel like I need to focus on Christmas a little more. :D

But regardless, TODAY is my promised Christmas on Friday. :)

My goal for this card was using the Tree Angle set WITH the beloved Stitched Triangles Dies.

SOMEHOW my first card didn't incorporate them!!

(what?!?!?!?!)

So here it is....some of my LOVES--

Tree Angle, Stitched Triangles Dies, www.dazzledbystamping.com

So I was inspired by these scraps of  Plaid Tidings DSP; I actually cut them down to 1" wide (tall?).

Then I saw these greetings in the Tree Angle set that could fit on skinny strips.

I started with the 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White layer.

DSP strips are 1" x 5 1/4".

I placed the top and bottom ones first and then placed the middle one.

I stamped between the strips once they were down.

I have a tip for the triangle tree....

For some reason I didn't have a problem with the bigger tree I used LAST week.

Maybe it's because there is so much design in this one?

But I struggled centering the die over the tree.

My best result came by CUTTING first and THEN stamping.

The set is photopolymer, so I can see right through the stamp.

It worked perfectly--or perfect enough for my standards. ;)

(no such thing as perfect, right?)

Here's all you need for this fun card:

Such a CUTE little party favor!

Good morning!

My closeups from yesterday's Live! make me happy!!

I'll start with my last project...

Beautiful Autumn bundle, Harvest Hellos, www.dazzledbystamping.com

You can't exactly tell by the pic, but if you didn't watch my Live!, this is a TINY little thing!!

That's a Hershey Nugget.

As I shared yesterday, besides your little embellishment pieces, you only need a 1 3/8" x 4 1/4" piece of cardstock!

I used Beautiful Autumn and Harvest Hellos (Give Thanks.)

Here are the 2 cards I made using the Love of Leaves bundle...

He's a friendly little guy!!!

Good morning peeps!!!

I hope you had an awesome weekend!!

I had my (virtual) Leaders Summit this weekend, and IT WAS FABULOUS!!!!

We've been spoiled by amazing IN PERSON events for so long!

I wasn't sure how ONLINE would compare!!

Like, it's not the same, right???

IT.WAS.FABULOUS.

I said that already.

They used some new (to us) platform that aligned with Zoom, so we could also have breakout rooms....6-8 people in a room for networking!

It was amazing!!!

Every Stampin' Up! Event I "attend", I'm reminded just how special of a company I represent.

Anyway, my weekend was great!

And Todd and I made a peach pie together, too!!

Yum. I didn't make one last year.

I still prefer Betty, but it felt good to work on it together.

I made the crust and he sliced the peaches.

I like him.

Hahaha!!

I just looked up at my title to my post and laughed!

Cuz I WASN'T talking about Todd!!

Haha!

I had my Whale Done Bundle Classes last week, and I just had to do a SPOTLIGHT of this cute little guy!

Whale Done bundle, Whale of a Time DSP, www.dazzledbystamping.com

He cracks me up!!!

He's in the middle of the EAC (if you recall from Finding Nemo), and he's flashing a smile at the "camera"!

Just love him.

Here's the complete card:

20200827_052926680_iOS

SPOTLIGHTING: a technique used to create a focal point of a certain area of an image. It doesn't have to be a specific image; it could be just a small area of a much larger item.

  • Often in stamping, there will be a large uncolored image or scene.
  • Then an area of the image is popped up with a colored layer of cardstock behind it; you really can use any graduated shape--punches or dies--but it's often circles or squares
  • Then the part of the image that is "spotlighted" is colored.

Obviously, my definition doesn't quite fit my example since I completely used already colored DSP.

But my little guy is definitely spotlighted with the colored layer behind it. (You can choose to pop it with Dimensionals or not.)

And I used my Stitched Shapes Dies! :D

Here's the whole list:

Christmas is Friday this year!

Happy Friday!!!

I decided to ease into Christmas samples.

I'm not exactly ready to think about it yet!!

But we have an awesome Seasonal Mini Catalog, and I HAVE made a Christmas card.

So Fridays are it for the moment.

Here's my first Christmas card I made--using Tree Angle:

Tree Angle, www.dazzledbystamping.com

I was SO attracted to the Stitched Triangles dies!

So when I saw this set that coordinated with them, it was a no-brainer!

(Then--go figure!--I didn't end up using the dies on my first card!)

But add some Plaid Tidings DSP and the cute Mossy Meadow 3/8" Diagonal Stripe Ribbon, and YAY!!

Love.

Here's the list of products used:

(I actually included the Stitched Triangles Dies, too, even though I didn't use them on this card.)

Don't forget to redeem your Bonus Codes!!

Have an exceptional weekend!!!
