Part o' the Stack

My Stamp-a-Stack was last night, and we had fun!

It was a smaller group, so I decided we'd all stay in one spot and pass the boxes (of projects.)

It's easier to chat when everyone's all together. :)

Here's one of the cards we made, featuring the (SAB) set See Ya Later (click to see the set) and Retro Fresh washi tape.

See Ya Later (SAB), Retro Fresh washi tape, www.dazzledbystamping.com

I love the colors of the Retro Fresh line!

My cardstock is Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.

Add a little *bling*, and you're good to go!!

Fun, fast and FABULOUS!!!

Have a great weekend!

Sweet 16!

Yep, that's how old my "baby" is!!

Elizabeth's celebration was pretty simple--except that I made many of her favorite foods for her sleepover with a friend--which started with comfy jammies at 5:30pm. *Ü* (Loved it.)

Chicken Parmesan

Fettuccini Alfredo

Texas Sheet Cake

Monkey Bread with homemade bread dough (for breakfast)

Yes.

We OVER.ATE. this weekend.

Todd calls my Chicken Parmesan and Fettuccini Alfredo my "signature meal" every time we have it, even though I've probably only been making it 1 1/2 years.

(Too bad I can't make it for my next HAP. Sorry. I just really couldn't make that happen. I don't do QUANTITY well without a crockpot! And I don't think the Alfredo would stay creamy. But I can share my recipes here. The Alfredo tastes like Olive Garden's--from years ago; it tasted better then. Elizabeth says she can't order Alfredo from Olive Garden anymore now that she's had mine.)

I changed my mind on how I was going to share....I just created links above in the list that's there.

So, besides cooking, I did make Elizabeth a little something.

A Dozen Thoughts, Kaleidoscope, Silver Foil, www.dazzledbystamping.com

She loves zebra print and turquoise. So this is my best shot at that.

The card actually came together pretty quickly.

Did you notice the different sizes of flowers and rhinestones?

A Dozen Thoughts, Kaleidoscope, Silver Foil, Boho Blossoms punch, www.dazzledbystamping.com

I did a couple different things with Rhinestones and the Boho Blossoms punch--

  1. You can see the LARGE rhinestone easily.
  2. The rhinestone on the smallest flower is actually the largest of the BASIC rhinestones.
  3. But the largest flower--with the most petals--has the largest of the BASIC rhinestones along with a Candy Dots Brad Base. Those are found on pg 171 of the full catalog, intended to be able to make a brad out of the Candy Dots in whatever color Dot you have. :) I honestly haven't used them until this card. It worked great to give me lots of looks!

So that's all for birthday sharing.

You may see the card in person when I see you again; Elizabeth gave it to me for a sample. :)

Have a great day!

Last HAP share day

Good morning!!! Happy Monday!!!

I have one more project to show you from the Hostess Appreciation Party.

But first, in case you are interested and didn't see it, someone asked for hints on how to make the winning Contest Card.

Go HERE and click on comments for tips from Michelle and I.

So here's one more project we made--a hand sanitizer (mini) gift box:

Hand Sanitizer (mini) Gift Box, Chalk Talk, Kaleidoscope, www.dazzledbystamping.com

This is another item I'll have instructions for in my next newsletter.

It's actually pretty easy--just need a few measurements!

(Sorry! Newsletter didn't happen this weekend; taxes trumped newsletter! But it will happen soon!!)

To sign up for my newsletter, subscribe on the left side of my blog.

Let's go Straight.....to #1

Another song going through my head, but that one's a little more recent. :)

So here's the winner of this year's Card Contest:

From Michelle Jager

Created by Michelle Jager, Annual Card Contest, www.dazzledbystamping.com, #HAP2014

Congratulations, Michelle!

I appreciate all the work that you and all the other participants put into your cards for the Card Contest.

I love seeing everyone's work!

And it made me happy to find out that the Contest was one of the favorite parts of the Hostess Appreciation Party. (I KNOW I always love it! Glad you do, too.)

One more thing to share....

Do you recall that a YEAR AGO, 3 days after my HAP, I left for Florida to help my sister who was having her 4th baby?

(Kinda funny....I pulled up my party plans from last year to work on this year's HAP. There were 2 columns on my "to do" list--BEFORE HAP and BEFORE FLORIDA. :) Then I was looking for something and went back and read my blogpost from when I got back home from Florida; it made me cry all over again.)

Ok, so NO, I'm not going to Florida again this year.

But, this card IS on the way to Florida. (Shhhh! Don't tell Emilio!!)

He's turning 1 tomorrow!!

Can't.even.believe.it.

Oh! And MY baby is turning 16 Sunday!!

CAN'T.EVEN.BELIEVE.IT.

(Yes, if you do the "math", I missed her birthday last year. But she authorized it and forgives me. She calls Emilio HER baby. They bonded when he was here this year.)

Teresa sent me some pics of him swinging (at the park?). He's such a cute peanut!

I already told Michelle I was sending the card off to him. [That's right. I get to keep the cards from the Contest. ;) ]

I thought he and his siblings might like a new lil friendly guy.

Anyway, just thought you might like to hear about my buddy.

I like him. I think you might, too. ;)

I have one more HAP project to share Monday.

Thanks for hangin with me all week!

Have a great weekend!!

The Final Countdown

Can you hear that 80s song playing?!

Yes, I'm dating myself, and honestly I doubt I know any other words in that song, but the instrumental and words "It's the final countdown" are just STUCK in my brain right now. :)

It was a GREAT day!!

I love my Hostess Appreciation Party (HAP) every year!!

SO.MUCH.FUN.

THANK YOU to all of you who were able to come!

I love having you all together--hanging with your clubbies, meeting new friends, reconnecting with old ones...(loved you, Mary & Gloria!) I just love it. And sometimes I got to gab with you as well--though not nearly as much as I would have liked to for some reason this year.

To ALL my hostesses--even if you couldn't make it to The Party--and to ALL my customers, THANK YOU for your business, your friendship, your loyalty and probably so much more that I can't think of at the moment. You are part of my/our family, and I LOVE YOU!!

And THANK YOU to my family who ALWAYS help me make it happen--the HAP, clubs, camps, classes....I appreciate you.

We had a fun time at The Party, but I can't prove that with any pictures. Again.

Last year was the first time I remembered to take any pictures--or more like, have my kids take them. And now I forgot again.

BUT, I DO have projects to share--as well as recipes (FOOD!) that were requested. :) It was SO yummy!

So let's start with a simple project first.

Totally going metallic:

Happy Watercolor, Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Simple and gorgeous.

Well, I hope you can tell it is....I missed my sunny days for photos.

The lighting doesn't do it justice.

The set was Happy Watercolor; Colors: Basic Gray, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake (ink), Early Espresso and Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.

Did I share this trick online yet? When using VELLUM, adhesive shows through. But with this DESIGNER vellum, you can hide your adhesive on the back of the designs--ie: apply the SNAIL where the stripes are. ;)

Tada!! No show adhesive.

Ok, now for the food.

I hope your meatballs were hot. (Sorry if some of yours weren't!) We had electrical problems earlier in the morning, and one crockpot dealt with that easier than another. ;) We didn't realize that until Elizabeth said her meatballs were barely warm. Aaahh!!!!

[No one else complained. Thank you for being gracious! But it's ok to tell me those things. Todd just switched out crockpots while the other heated up more.]

I'm not gonna lie....(I won't, Courtney!) The combination of [warm ;)] sweet & sour meatballs and Irish potatoes have to be near or at the top of my comfort food list. (And no, Julie, I have no clue WHY they're called "Irish", but--like you--I'll be Irish any day if you give me those potatoes!)

Also, I don't have a "recipe" for the fruit salad Todd made--except that it includes:

  • strawberries that we picked
  • blueberries that we picked
  • peaches that we picked
  • bananas that we picked in Hawaii (ha!! just kidding!!)
  • fresh pineapple
  • fresh kiwi

Here are recipes for everything we made. (They are pdf files. You'll need Adobe to open them.) You can click on the name to view/print each one--or [right] click and then [left] click on "save file as" to save the recipe to your own computer. Just choose where on your computer you want it to go before clicking SAVE.

Todd made the Apple Betty, too:

One last thing for today. I have a FREE Sale-a-Bration (SAB) item up for grabs.

Here's how you can win it:

I want your comments below.

Tell me your favorite part about the HAP Saturday ~or~

Tell me something you've loved about a past HAP ~or~

Vote for what dessert you want for next year ~or~

Tell me your favorite SAB item this year ~or~

Just tell me something you want to share ~or~

All of the above! :)

Let me hear what you think!

Comment by Tuesday midnight, and I'll randomly draw a name and contact you for your choice of free SAB item. I'll announce the winner Wednesday.

I'll be sharing more all week from the Hostess Appreciation Party, so check back tomorrow.

Have a fantastic week!!
