Easy Easel Card!

Have you seen an easel card before?

Here's one!

Easel Card with Animal Outing, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Easel Card with Animal Outing, www.dazzledbystamping.com

It was easy to make!

I'll tell you how in a sec.

But can we talk about how beautiful this Soft Sea Foam color is???

I love it.

And yes.

I used the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.

Again.

And yes.

I colored.

Stampin' Blends.

Smoky Slate combo + Color Lifter.

Stampin' Blends make me look like I can color.

I like.

And yes.

I'm somewhat falling in love with this rhino.

Somewhat.

Ok--back to the easel card.

You can make them any size you'd like.

You need:

  1. a full card, scored in half WITH the top half scored in half, too
  2. an additional piece of cardstock, the size of the card front
  3. some part of your design popped on the inside of the card base to prop the easel

I used:

  1. a piece of cardstock 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4" (but you could make a 4" square card with a 4" x 8" pc, scored at 4" and 2"...or any number of possibilities)
  2. my additional pc was 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (the second example would be a 4" x 4" pc)
  3. Tailored Tag Punch piece popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals (you could also just use an embellishment to prop it for display)

If you can't tell in my second pic, the second score line is creased toward the INSIDE of the card.

I used Tear & Tape on the front of the tucked in section.

The BOTTOM of the card front is attached to the Tear & Tape.

When it's NOT propped up, the card just looks like a normal card.

The card front is completely designed.

Here's the complete list of products I used:

A Second Look--Varied Vases

Morning people!

Happy Monday!!

It's gonna be a weird week with the holiday right in the middle of it!

Did you take the whole week off to avoid the weirdness??

Todd usually does, but THIS year he chose to take off toward the end of the month for some strange reason! ;)

Coutdown to Alaska = 18 DAYS!!

It seems unreal!

So my sample for you today is from my Open House.

I needed a little convincing to fall in love with Varied Vases.

I passed it by at first glance.

THEN I kept seeing samples!

Well....let me take a second look! :D

Suddenly it was a need!!

"need."

Here's what we made:

Varied Vases bundle, www.dazzledbystamping.com

One of the things I love about this bundle is it's a PUNCH!!

In general, I prefer punches to thinlits.

Another bonus is ALL THE POSSIBILITIES with this set!!

Each vase shape has 3 "finishes": outline, solid and designed.

Varied vases pic

It's just adorable!

My colors here are Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Night of Navy.

I used my Color Coach to help me get there.

I didn't have the Subtles Collection of DSP, so my strip at the bottom is actually Gorgeous Grape.

Varied Vases bundle, www.dazzledbystamping.com

And have you noticed yet?

I just can't seem to get away from using that AMAZING POLKA DOT TULLE RIBBON!!!

I hope you don't mind. ;)

Here's all you need to make this card:

Broadway Bound--the negative

Last week I showed you this fun Broadway Birthday card:

Broadway Birthday bundle, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Today I wanted to show you what I came up with using the negative image:

Broadway Birthday bundle, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Kinda fun!

Same basic design.

And colors/products.

The one thing that you have to work a little harder at with the negative image is saving those little pieces from the loops--the top of the "h" and base of the "s"....

Broadway Birthday bundle, www.dazzledbystamping.com

The GOOD THING is....if you used the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with the thinlit (like I'd very much suggest!), then even those tiny pieces have the adhesive on them. :D

Here's what you need to make EITHER card:

Big Shot
$110.00

Such a cute bunch!

I think I told you already--Animal Outing was one of the stamp sets we got FREE at OnStage Milwaukee!

Well here's a fun card we've been making at my clubs this month:

Animal Outing, www.dazzledbystamping.com

We used Stampin' Blends on the giraffe.

2 things:

  • NO, still no news on the new colors of Stampin' Blends....BUT remember you CAN order all the colors that aren't new. (In the catalog, new colors have an "N" next to them.)
  • Remember to use Memento ink AND let it dry when/before using Stampin' Blends; it's made to not bleed with alcohol based markers.

Hey--did you notice the frog in the tree?

Love him.

Animal Outing, www.dazzledbystamping.com

This stamp set is part of a bundle along with coordinating thinlits.

Here's the list:

Have a great day!!

Thinlits Versatility!

Before I share my project with you, I have fabulous news!

Yesterday I earned enough points for NEXT YEAR'S CRUISE to the Greek Isles!!!

SO EXCITING!!!

Thank you so much for YOUR part in helping me earn it!!

And.......we are 33 days from our Alaskan Cruise!

It seems so unreal!

Ok, so back to the real world. ;)

I had a fun New Catalog Open House last week!

As promised, we used the amazing Broadway Birthday bundle--in colors specific to the suite:

Broadway Bound Suite, pg 68, www.dazzledbystamping.com

We used the thinlits a little differently here--simply embossing with it for one piece, in addition to cutting another one out....

Here's the thinlit we used, along with the outside frame that's cut out.

(We stamped the inside white piece for our card.)

IMG_6252

We EMBOSSED the Basic Black cardstock with the new Embossing Mats.

So the black frame has embossed circles rather than circles cut out of it (like the white frame).

We cut around the outside frame with our Paper Snips.

Broadway Bound Suite, pg 68, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Here's a video to show you how it's done--with the new Embossing Mats from Stampin' Up!:

(It makes our thinlits so versatile!!)

I have one more quick mention for you.

We ALSO used the Stamparatus for this card--the dots on WISH.

It's so great!!

But I have to be honest that I really don't think the Stamparatus is needed for it!

WISH is so big, and the set is photopolymer, so it's pretty easy to line up!

Here's my supply list for this card:

Have a wonderful day!!

ps: Does everyone realize the Fourth of July is a week from today????

That's just shocking to me!!

Somehow I keep thinking there's another week in there!

Luggage Tags & Lanterns

We are UNDER 30 DAYS til our cruise!!

If we're friends on facebook, you may have seen this pic already:

My travel packet!

I got our travel packet in the mail this week!

And I had to sit down for a little light reading. :)

We got some cool luggage tags and our lanyards we need for entrance into specific Stampin' Up! events on the ship.

These are pretty typical at SU! events.

From the first moment of our first trip--to DC--Todd has called them LANTERNS.

haha. He cracks me up!

We can't go anywhere without our lanterns!

Luggage Tags & Lanterns! ;)

Another item in our travel packet was a standup daily itinerary/suggestions.

Let me show you my favorite part:

COME SEE ME TODAY!!!

I'm super excited about my Open House today!

It goes 1:30pm-8:30pm at my house.

(and Saturday 9:30am-12:30pm)

I LOVE our new product!!

But I'm also EXTREMELY excited about a set of tools I bought that came yesterday!

EVERYONE--myself included--wants to see the Designer Series Paper (DSP) IN PERSON!!!

However, buying it ALL isn't practical or even necessarily desired.

Well, I bought a set of DSP swatchbooks from another Demonstrator, Dawn Olchefske, and they are AMAZING!!!

DSP swatchbooks created by Dawn Olchefske, www.dazzledbystamping.com

I appreciate all the time she put into it!

(saved.me.so.much)

And I love her vision of having all the relevant info right on the front!

LOOK!!

The (*) by one of the colors is the color cardstock used for the "cover".

I'll have these available to browse at all my events.

But you may want to stop by special to see them before the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE sale next month! (July 1-31)
