A Color Girl after my own heart...

Happy New Year!!!

Thank you so much to all my wonderful customers and Dazzling Demos Team for your support in a wonderful year!

You're amazing! And I appreciate all of you!!

We are on our way to pick up Liz right now! Yay!

She sent me a perfect pic I asked for months ago!

She's been doing some acrylic painting since she's been down at school.

When we moved her back down to school in August, I was just obsessed with her collection but never thought to take a pic!

UVVT8282[1]

Aaaaahhhh!!!!! I LOVE COLOR!!!!

And clearly--so does she!

Like how awesome is that collection???

Ok, before I go, here's the card she colored with my Stampin' Blends when she was home at Thanksgiving. :)

From my mailbox...to retirement

Hey I decided to do a quick post from my mailbox!

I didn't get ANY of my [mailbox] Christmas cards on my blog this year, and Christmas has kinda passed.

I received SUCH BEAUTIFUL CARDS!!!

Thank you for taking the time to make them--and even for those of you who didn't make them--including me on your Christmas list.

They make me happy!! :D

So anyway, the cards I've chosen to show you specifically have items on them (stamps, bundles, folder, etc) that will be retiring 1/2/18--OR...they're on the Clearance Rack already!

  • Some of the bundles are just coming UN-bundled but carrying forward through Spring, at least. [You won't be able to save 10% when you purchase them together using the bundle item #.]

  • All the items I'm pointing out are still available, based on my looking them up online a little bit ago.

  • Remember, a $50 order through tomorrow--using hostess code CG9PSYJT--qualifies you for a free pkg of Mini Stampin' Dimensionals from me.

  • On the other hand, a $50 order on & after 1/3/18 qualifies you for a free SAB item from the SAB catalog. [Weigh your options. ;) ]

Shop online 24/7!

Ok, here they are; I'll try to give you a heads up on retiring items:

Something old; something new

You KNOW I'm gonna miss the Buffalo Plaid in the Merry Little Christmas DSP right???

Well, I still happen to have some SOMEHOW.

I guess that happens when you buy several packs of your favorite.

I paired it with an AMAZING Sale-a-Bration (SAB) item!!

Happy Wishes (SAB), www.dazzledbystamping.com

Happy Wishes is 1 of 2 items only available with a $100 purchase.

I ADORE the font of the "extras" (birthday, you make me so...)

Oh--and I took creative license and put the birthday above the happy.

I decided it was ok, since the happy is taller. :D

Reminder: Sale-a-Bration is January 3 - March 31.

Book your workshops NOW if you want the opportunity for even more hostess benefits during SAB!

Here's another version of my card.

(Honestly, I wanted to use more bows!! They're self-adhesive. BOW-NUS!!)

Coloring!

Happy Wednesday, peeps!!

I've KINDA been on vacation for a bit and have some catching up to do.

But I'm taking it a little slow.

We had a nice Christmas, but Liz hasn't been home yet.

She's been too sick to travel, and everything's just kinda been up in the air.

I'll be very thankful when she can be here. :)

So did all of you get your Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalogs???

I believe you should have gotten them by now; if you haven't, let me know!

I have a bunch of new stuff but have barely played with it.

Can't wait to show you!

For now, I'm just showing you something a little different for me today--coloring (probably the most I've done in a long time!):

Check out the CLEARANCE RACK!

Ok my card for you today is a 2 for 1 deal!

2 techniques--1 amazing background! :D

Striped Wipe + Emboss Resist (without the emboss) =

Night in Bethlehem bundle, www.dazzledbystamping.com

We had a fun, messy time playing with this technique at my clubs this month!

YOU NEED:

  • Glossy Cardstock
  • VersaMark
  • baby wipes
  • Classic ink refills
  • something sturdy--and bigger than your glossy cardstock piece--to do the "swiping". (We used Dynamic Embossing Folders.)

1) Stamp your [stars] on Glossy cs FIRST and LET THEM DRY! (10 minutes?) **This allows the stars to RESIST the ink you're gonna swipe across it.

2) Drape a baby wipe over the edge of your "something sturdy" (our folded edge of our embossing folder) and stand it upright so baby wipe is at the top.

3) Drip Classic Ink refill colors across that edge, making sure they to wick together. (We used 3 different colors; I did 3 or 4 drops of one color in a row, then continued with the last 2 colors in the same way. So I had 3 blocks of colors in a continuous row across the baby wipe/top edge of my folder.)

4) Lay Glossy cs on scrap paper; HOLD THE BABY WIPE SO IT'S TAUT, and swipe the inked edge across it from one end to the other. Continue until you have the coverage you desire.

• you can go back and forth to get good coverage

• MAKE SURE you keep the same colors in the same order

• wipe can last for 2 or 3 pieces of Glossy; if the color runs low, add more ink

5) LET DRY before attaching to your project. The color WILL fade.

Here's all the product we used:

The Stamparatus--in my own words

Hey--have YOU reserved your Stamparatus yet?

STAMPARATUS: an amazing stamp positioning tool

  • works with clear mount or photopolymer stamps
  • designed to help you stamp your image (or multiple images) exactly where you'd like [them]
  • allows you to stamp in exactly the same place every time (multiple cards)
  • helps you correct a mistake of not inking your stamp well enough the first time--because you just re-ink and stamp it again!

From everything I've heard, Stampin' Up! did everything right on this tool!

the design...

the price... (it's $49, by the way)

Have you watched the video yet? (below)

You only have until December 30 to reserve it (or wait til the new catalog in June.)

  • a credit card is needed to reserve, but nothing is charged until you give final approval once you've been notified it's ready to ship
  • shipments will begin after March 19--in first come, first serve order--and will continue until all reservations are fulfilled.
  • after December 30, no other "orders" will be accepted for the Stamparatus until the new catalog launches in June.

Polished Stone Night in Bethlehem

Polished Stone is one of my very favorite techniques.

It's been around a long time, and it's so easy!

We made this at my Glossy Cardstock Technique Class a couple weeks ago:

Night in Bethlehem bundle, polished stone technique, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Isn't it GORGEOUS???

For the technique, you need glossy cardstock, 2 or 3 Classic ink refills, a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle.

  • Put a couple drops of each ink on a cotton ball.
  • Spritz cotton ball with the rubbing alcohol.
  • Pounce color on glossy cardstock until its covered as you desire.
  • If you don't cover your whole piece, you can add more ink drops and continue.

  • Every background looks different--depending on the colors you choose, how many drops of ink you use and even how BIG the drops are!
  • You can also pounce and twist your color on for a different look.

If you wanna try the technique out, choose a couple colors of ink that you love together and start playing!

I prefer deeper/richer, monochromatic colors RATHER than lighter ones and/or non-monochromatic. (Start with all blues or all greens, etc--such as Night of Navy and Marina Mist as opposed to Navy and Rich Razzleberry.)

Here's what I used on this card:

Big Shot
$110.00

Have a fabulous weekend!!

And stay safe and warm!

Eclipse Joy

Eclipse is a technique I've been seeing around for a little while.

Judy Cole experimented with it and I love her end result!

Eclipse technique, created by Judy Cole, www.dazzledbystamping.com

Oh--I just remembered she was playing with this technique at our Christmas Card-Making Party a month ago.

I have another night scheduled to Stamp the Night Away: Saturday, January 20, 6pm-midnight.

I can't promise you Judy will be there to show you her stuff (she's in Alaska for Christmas and waiting for her first grandbaby to be born :D ), but we all had a lot of fun!!!

Bring a project to work on (stamping or otherwise), and come join us! CLICK HERE TO RSVP.

While I'm at it, just reminding those of you who qualify (hostesses this past year, including club members) my 16th Annual Hostess Appreciation Party is Saturday, January 27, starting with lunch at 11:30am.

Mark your calendars and start working on your Contest Cards!

I'll send invitations probably early January.

Here's my guess on what Judy used for her card--Good Tidings is retiring/discounted, by the way!
